KHS coordinated various artistic and cultural organisations to object to a proposal for a bus stand in Grameen Haat opposite the Kota Art Gallery. We wanted to preserve the wetland there and the integrity of C.V. Garden as a bio-diverse haven.

We held a signature campaign, an awareness raising walk through the garden, and wrote to the Governor and Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Our proposal for a cultural centre that promotes craft and artisans was accepted and we hope we are involved in the planning.

The Urban Development and Housing Minister, Shri Shanti Dhariwal, visited the gallery during our 'Visual Poetries' exhibition, but did not honour the exhibition with his presence and remained outside the gallery.

(Our objections were ignored and the bus stand has been built. It remains to be seen how noisy it will be. November 2022.)
