A Farewell to Udai Singh Rathor

2024-09-17 09:30 by Victoria Singh

It is with great sadness  we inform you that Udai Singh Rathor, the founding Vice-President of  Kota  Heritage Society, passed away on Friday 13th September, 2024 after a long illness.

Udai will be  fondly remembered as  a raconteur and conversationalist who was always excellent company and gave freely of his time and knowledge to children and adults alike. He was a maverick and independent thinker with a distinctive sense of humour who published several short books starting with a spoof on Bill Clinton's visit to India.

His lasting legacy will be his excellent  translation into English of Dr. Jagat Narayan's book 'The Life and Times of Maharao Umed Singh II of  Kotah', the launch of which he sadly didn't  live to see.
