Rao Baljeet Singhji of Rajodia, Kota, passed away peacefully aged 89 in Gurgaon, Haryana on 7^th April, 2025.

Rao Sahib, as he was respectfully known, had been a founding executive member of KHS from 2007 until his retirement in 2022. Alwyas courteous, knowledgeable and softly spoken, he had encouraged me to start a heritage society which he would join.

Professionally, Rao Sahib had been a professor at Bombay University until 1983. He then worked for twenty-five years as curator at Kota Garh and was always happy to share his knowledge about the collection and wall paintings with grace and humility.
